Fidelity Discount & Deposit, West Scranton, PA

A largely glass facade cuts down on the need for artificial lighting inside and is monitored by a Daylight Harvesting system that automatically adjusts lighting levels as needed.  Both high energy efficient and frosted glass were used to diffuse direct sunlight in the branch. The building also utilizes occupancy sensors so that no lights will remain on in empty rooms.  Flooring is a resilient material made from recycled tires and eco-carpet tiles. Tile in bathrooms is made from 40% recycled ceramic content, while bathroom fixtures are automatic and low-flow fixtures.  The walls are painted with 0-VOC paints, to maintain a healthy indoor air quality. The furniture fabrics are made from 100% recycled polyester.  Roofing materials selected are designed to reflect sunlight instead of absorbing it, cutting down on urban heat island effect.
