A “Town Center ” that exposes the heavy timber construction of the 100 year old former silk mill becomes a central organizing spine, as well as a place to relax, refresh and meet informally or conduct large presentations. It is punctuated by a Museum Wall with collages that highlight the company history, while the exhibit boxes and videos can be updated regularly depending on what products they want to display and what story they want to tell to visitors. The metal ceiling feature provides visual interest and identifies circulation. Upon entry, the graphic map panels express the global nature of the company and the wall graphics illustrate Gentex products being used in dynamic situations.
By applying our Strategic Branded Experience Framework, we were able to organize the space to maximize collaboration and increase the amount of natural light throughout. The activity-based working style with sit/stand workstations allows employees to choose from a variety of settings according to the nature of their task – from “phone booth” rooms for a private call or meditation to meeting rooms of different sizes that accommodate everything from a team meeting to a company-wide gathering. Materials, colors and supergraphics energize the spirit of Gentex and reinforce their core mission, vision and values.
